Dreaming of Tightlines

I made this quilt in 2010 after seeing the fabric with flies (for fishing) on it in the bargain bin at My Sewing Room. My husband is an obsessive fly fisherman, so I thought he would love it. I chose an easy pattern (online, sorry I forget the source) and found other fish related fabrics to go with the flies. I like the movement of the pattern that is reminiscent of bends in a river. Quilted with wispy curves by the longarm artist at My Sewing Room; it turned out beautifully.

Little did I know that the flies in the fabric are “classic atlantic salmon fishing flies”, not the “dry flies, nymphs and streamers”  that my husband uses to catch trout in the Bow River. Despite the technical inconsistency, he still liked the quilt.
