Gratitude Flowers: A Deep Gratitude Practice

Since yesterday was gratitude for the soil, why don’t I move on to the concept of plants. Oh that seems too obvious. Instead I will use the petals of a flower to deepen my gratitude practice. Each thing I am grateful for is a flower with many petals. The yellow centre of this petal is my gratitude for my home. But what specifically about my home? What does each petal of gratitude on the flower of gratitude for my home represent? It is easy to get complacent with gratitude practice. This practice of gratitude flowers pushes me to go deeper.

Petal 1: I am grateful for the location of my home. I am truly grateful for our next door neighbours who feel like part of our family and brighten each day that we spend time with them. It feels like we are truly supporting each other.

Petal 2: I am grateful for the design of our home with creates a sense of cohesiveness and harmony.

Petal 3: I am grateful for all the elements of the home that work behind the scenes. We have clean water, heat, power, etc.

Petal 4: I am grateful that my home is comfortable, clean, safe and healthy.

Petal 5: I am grateful for the flooring in my home which is made of wood that has a deep brown colour which conveys warmth and comfort.

Petal 6: I am grateful to have my own bathroom.
